In the first picture of this series of pictures from the Hinterveld Mohair Factory Tour in Uitenhage showed the raw mohair as it comes in from the farm. From there it goes through a washing and drying process. The washing process takes the mohair through two baths where a machine with "spider" legs makes sure … Continue reading Mohair – after the wash

Birds and boat (and a new camera)
A fishing boat sailing along Port Elizabeth's Wildside with a flock of terns on the rocks in the foreground. This is the last picture I have to post taken with my Fiji bridge camera. The camera was in the boot of my car that was stolen about two months ago. The good news is that, after what … Continue reading Birds and boat (and a new camera)
Raw mohair arriving at the factory
I came across a folder with five pictures taken at Hinterveld in Uitenhage during a Mohair Factory Tour which for some reason I never posted. Oh well, better late than never. At the start of the tour you get to see the bales of raw mohair as it arrives at the factory for processing. The … Continue reading Raw mohair arriving at the factory

Seeing that we can't get away over Easter this year, we decided to have a family weekend away … Continue reading Canals, Coastline and Candelabra flowers – Exploring St Francis Bay
Kings Beach activities
Standing at McArthur pool on Saturday during Ironkids I tried out the zoom lens on my new camera watched some activity on Kings Beach. I was amazed at all the different things happening. People swimming, a couple of kite boarders, two guys on SUPs, body boarders, knee board paddlers, kids building sand castles, people having … Continue reading Kings Beach activities
Drinks overlooking the pool
On Saturday during Ironkids at the McArthur pool complex my eye kept on wandering to the folk having drinks on the deck at Cubana. It must be one of the best spots for a drink with its view of the pools and Kings Beach beyond.
Kinkelbos roadworks sunset
Driving back from East London to Port Elizabeth last week I got stuck at the road works between Kinkelbos and Colchester. I don't allow road works to faze me anymore and always get out, lean against the car and enjoy whatever scenery there is. This time around the sun was setting in the west with some … Continue reading Kinkelbos roadworks sunset
