Going on a game drive at Lalibela Game Reserve outside Port Elizabeth recently we were lucky to have quite a few very good sightings of rhino, giraffe and lion on the afternoon game drive. Unfortunately even though the ranger knew where the elephants were we just couldn't catch sight of them. As the sun disappeared in the west … Continue reading Ellies after sunset

Wit Renosters
Continue reading Wit Renosters
On a good day you could also … Continue reading Two of the Big 5

These encounters get even more exciting when they pass as close as this one. Luckily the elephants in Addo are used to vehicles and encounters like this is possible, … Continue reading There’s an elephant in the way
Elephant roadblock
Some of the best sightings one can have in Addo Elephant National Park is to find a herd of elephants either on or right next to the road. The best way to enjoy this is to just switch off the car and sit back and watch these massive animals go about their normal daily routine.
Elephant applying make-up
I often think that a lot of residents of Port Elizabeth doesn't realised what a fantastic game reserve they have in Addo Elephant National Park right on the city's doorstep. Where else can you go in early in the morning and see an elephant powdering her face before the crowds arrive? Huh? Jokes aside. I visited … Continue reading Elephant applying make-up
