A couple of years ago the municipality built a walkway from one of the parking lots at Sardinia Bay across a big dune to give easier access to the beach. The problem is that the dune is slowly moving and didn't like this walkway built across its back. This is what's left of it.

Airborne
A couple of kids from the neighborhood has developed themselves a bit of an informal bmx jump area on a piece of open ground next to the railway line close to us. Although some of the older people in the area are complaining about it, the kids are thoroughly enjoying themselves showing off the bmx … Continue reading Airborne
Wading
Chaos Boy wading in the lagoon at the Maitlands River mouth just outside Port Elizabeth. I also took a couple of pics of the river on its own, but it needed a subject and I had my model (at this stage he still volunteers his services when required but sometimes grumbles when I take to … Continue reading Wading
Hobie Beach
I know its winter and a bit cold outside and this is a summer picture, but I feel like going to the beach for some reason. Hobie Beach is one of Port Elizabeth's main beaches. It can be found across the road from the Boardwalk Casino complex and is where Shark Rock Pier is situated. … Continue reading Hobie Beach
Wilderness
I have always said that if my boat had to come in I would one day retire in Wilderness on the Garden Route. Somewhere against the hillside from where I can see the ocean, mountains, lakes and beaches of this beautiful area. Wilderness is a nice central base from where visitors can explore the Southern … Continue reading Wilderness
Tsitsikamma National Park
The Tsitsikamma National Park is definitively one of my absolute favorite places on the Garden Route. It is a awesome park with such contrast and natural beauty, its hard to find anything better anywhere else. Forests, towering cliffs, black rock coastline, white waves, blue ocean, streams, beaches... I can go on and on. The park … Continue reading Tsitsikamma National Park
Fishing boats at sunrise
A couple of fishing boats lying at anchor in Algoa Bay at sunrise. The boats normally come into the bay to seek shelter when there is a strong wind being forcasted.
The boy in the red shirt
On our recent trip to Cape St Francis, Chaos Boy decided to tag along on my outing to find the wreck indicated on the information sheet at the resort we were staying at. While I was taking pictures all over the show, he was exploring away on his own. I liked how his red shirt … Continue reading The boy in the red shirt
Cape Recife
This pic was taken on the beach at Cape Recife on the Algoa Bay side looking south at the Cape Recife lighthouse (right) and one of the shipping beacons (left). I specially liked the cloud formation in the background.
The water’s edge
When I did the first "Random ..." post on "Roundness", it was because I couldn't find anything else that tickled my fancy for a post that night. The second one on "Rust" was out of wanting to post one specific photo and finding a couple of others which linked to the theme. Now I've realised … Continue reading The water’s edge
