The Mandela figure at the head of The Voting Line piece on the Donkin Reserve has become a very popular photographic subject since it's installation as part of Route 67 either on it's own or with people posing next to it. Donkin Reserve intersection
Even though I've been to the Donkin Reserve so many times (I don't want to say hundreds of times but probably can), I still enjoy walking around the reserve and look at the Route 67 art pieces. It really is one of Port Elizabeth's ultimate iconic sites.
A pigeon pair

Donkin Mosaic Steps
The view up the Mosaic Steps at the Donkin Reserve must be one of my favorite views of this iconic spot.

A Donkin Reserve view

Voting Line shadows
It turns out that the Voting Line on the Donkin Reserve isn't just made up of interesting and diverse silhouettes, it also throws the most interesting shadows.
Looking across the Donkin
The woman with the chair, Anton Momberg's Untitled art piece forming part of Route 67, looks across the Donkin Reserve towards the Donkin Lighthouse and Pyramid.
Lines old and new
The Voting Line on the Donkin Reserve is on of my favorite art pieces forming part of Route 67. Most people usually photograph them from the other side but this time I wanted to include the row of Donkin Houses in the background. Built in the mid 1800's the houses have recently been refurbished, forming … Continue reading Lines old and new
