Peaceful beachfront
Amid days with strong winds, lots of fires in Thornhill and Knysna, storms in the Cape, KidZ writing exams, me finally starting to catch up on work and whatever else, we've had a few nice evenings and after working a little late one afternoon I stopped on the beachfront to get some sunset photos. Standing … Continue reading Peaceful beachfront
Beachfront Mussels
I took a break on the beachfront yesterday at low tide and walked out on the little wall between Deville and Humewood Beach. Out at the end there are loads of mussels on the wall and it made a nice different foreground for a picture looking towards Kings Beach in the back.
The lazy days of Summer
Oh the lazy days of Summer. There is about a week left before school starts, some people are back at work tomorrow and most will be back by Monday so make the most of these beautiful summer days we have. Love the rain that fell this afternoon though. We really need it badly.
Humewood coastline
Some of the landmarks around Humewood Beach. The promenant Humewood slipway pillars, Shark Rock Pier in the background, the cement wall in the front, the steps where the old lifeguard tower used to be and the tripod the rope out to the pillars used to hang from in yester year.

I hear rumours that there are big plans afoot to possibly include them in an iconic art … Continue reading A head-on Slipway
Snorkeling at Humewood Slipway
Check out this awesome video Keith Hamilton shot while snorkeling around the six pillars of the old Humewood slipway. Just shows that we have some stunning snorkeling spots along our coastline with this one being right here on the main beachfront.
Then and Now: The Humewood Slipway
Last week I did a post Then and Now : Humewood Beach showing a couple of historic photos of Humewood beach along with a modern one. I purposely didn't post the two historic photos of the Humewood Slipway below as they were taken from a different direction and I decided to make a separate post … Continue reading Then and Now: The Humewood Slipway
