If you are looking to find a long necked, big bodied long lost pond monster, the main fish pond in St Georges Park is probably not the place to go and look. Situated right in the centre of the gardens and surrounded by trees, the fish pond is one of the features of the park. I'm not … Continue reading Park fish pond

St Georges Park gardens
One of the departments in the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality that does wonderful visible work are the guys who tend the gardens along some of the city's roads as well as in some of the parks. St Georges Park is no different and doesn't matter what time of year you go there the gardens are … Continue reading St Georges Park gardens
Pearson Conservatory fountain
The central fountain in the newly restored Pearson Conservatory in St Georges Park is still the original one that was imported from the United Kingdom in 1882.
Conservatory interior
The interior of the newly refurbished and restored Pearson Conservatory in St Georges Park I posted about yesterday. They have changed the garden setup a little bit from what it used to look like and even though the flowers and plants have only recently been planted it's looking beautiful. Urban game

Biodiversity Garden
With Table Mountain National Park and all the other natural spaces around the city, Cape Town is a world class biodiversity hotspot. Thus I wasn't very surprised when I heard that the city has developed a Biodiversity Garden at the new Green Point Park next to the Cape Town Stadium. I boded my time and made my way … Continue reading Biodiversity Garden
Bougainvillea at Dodds Farm
I accompanied the webmaster of Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism on an outing to a couple of nature trails around Port Elizabeth to get some pictures for the NMBT website. I spotted this flowering bougainvillea at Dodds Farm in the Baakens Valley and, knowing me for a while now, when I told him to keep walking … Continue reading Bougainvillea at Dodds Farm
