On a nice sunny day one of the best places to have lunch or just a coffee or a drink is one of the outside seating areas belonging to the restaurants at the Boardwalk. Its normally quite difficult getting an outside seat overlooking the Boardwalk lake at a place like Dulcé. Suddenly I wish I … Continue reading Boardwalk outside dining

Dinner on the coals
Most of the private game reserves around Port Elizabeth serve traditional South African foods to their guests. Some make it in their kitchens while others do it out in the open on the coals. At Schotia Safaris they prepare the food in their outside lapa in full sight of their guests. Schotia's owner, Peter Bean, … Continue reading Dinner on the coals
Bramon Wine Estate

Pirates

As far as restaurants go, the Oyster Catcher has a great ambience, which is unfortunately spoilt by poor service. As a customer one does not expect to be kept waiting for an interminable period before being served, then when … Continue reading Boats and bad service
Anyone for prawns?
The penguin on the Oceanarium Complex looks like it is hankering after some of Jimmy's killer prawns, at Brookes Pavillion at the beach front. MMMM, come to think of it.....
Aviators
Time to take a break from climbing bell towers and checking out the view and have some dinner. Tonights choice is Aviators Pub and Grub, which is located in Allister Miller Drive alongside the Airport. It has a distinct aviation feel and atmosphere and serves a great steak. The aircraft is an Impala MkI. It was … Continue reading Aviators
