During the recent heavy rains the 3rd Avenue Dip was closed a couple of times again. After it opened up Drama Princess asked if we could stop down at the bottom because she wanted to see the water. The Baakens River was still flowing strong and water was gushing through the pipes under the road.Looking … Continue reading Water under the bridge at the dip

J Bay Wind Farm from a dirt road
Love them or hate them, the wind farms around Jeffrey's Bay, Humansdorp and St Francis has become part of the Kouga region's landscape. After a meeting in Humansdorp recently I did a detour to Paradise Beach along the road that leads through Lombardini Game Farm and stopped to snap this pic back on the road. Langenhoven Drive from the Bridge
While the Damselfly was in hospital a couple of weeks ago, I went for a walk through Greenacres and The Bridge while waiting for visiting hours. I don't get to go to Greenacres that often as Walmer Park is much closer and more convenient for me so its been a while since my last visit. "The road this", "the road that" and "the road whatever". I've never been further than just past East London and got to fly to … Continue reading The road through the Transkei
Marine Drive on the Wildside
I think most Port Elizabethans take Marine Drive along the Wildside for granted. I took a location scout from Cape Town that way last week and she was very impressed with the stunning views you get of the coastline from the road. It may not be Chapmans Peak Drive, but it sure can be classified … Continue reading Marine Drive on the Wildside
Grysbok Reserve road
Very few people know that the South Campus of the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University is situated on a nature reserve. The Grysbos Nature Reserve can be accessed (with permission) from the campus along this road. I went to a meeting at the campus and snapped the pic over the gate on my way past.
