Over the weekend there was a national kite surfing competition that took place in blistering conditions at Bluewater Bay on the eastern side of Port Elizabeth. It was a stunning site seeing all the kits bulging in the wind with the city in the background.

Having grown up in the Port Elizabeth community, I can tell you that this actually the “overflow” of the Jewish cemetery. The main cemetery is on the other side of the the wall on the left. My father, grandparents and many other family members are buried there.

Beautiful image, so free and airy. I assume from your photos that you're having summer at the moment (summer seems a long time ago here in Wales!)?

Lovely – but hope its not as windy there as it is in Cape Town. I am thinking fondly of the wonderful climate in Jozie and wondering what on earth I am doing in Cape Town.
