Port Elizabeth is surrounded by some of the best private game reserves in South Africa, not forgetting Addo Elephant National Park right on our doorstep. The majority of these game reserve have free range lions and its always a highlight on any game drive to encounter these magnificent and proud animals. Kalahari is one of two male lions in the Kuzuko section of the Addo Elephant National Park. He was one of the first six lions brought to Addo from the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park when it was decided to reintroduce lions to the park a couple of years ago.

Nothing wrong with great lion shots. I know though, when you post something similar it feels like more variety is needed. But I think posting what you have is far better than nothing.

Wow Firefly…these are beautiful! You really captured their majesty and I love how the texture of the mane came thru so well because you chose b/w instead of color. What a blessing to be able to experience such beautiful creatures! Thanks for sharing!

Good pictures Firefly – I prefer to see my reflection in the big cat's eye before I press the capture button on the camera. It is odd how many of us simply walk past many decent photo opportunities. eg. your Hottentots Fig pictures. I await my underwater camera from the USA – I have the housing. Soon the underwater landscape will become available to me.
