I went past Hobie Beach yesterday and snapped this picture of a deserted beach. Now you may be a little confused about the fact that the beach is empty in the middle of summer. We have had a fabulous summer so far. Its been hot (perhaps a little too humid at times), but also very dry. You could see how little rain we’ve had just by looking at the lawns and gardens around town. That was until a few days ago. For the last thee days its been thankfully raining softly and constantly. Thus the empty beach.

We've had many grey days of chilly winds in our Mornington Peninsula summer! Today warmed up mid morning but now it's overcast! We've had a number of empty summer beaches! So weird! And yet they provide extraordinary photo ops! This looks wonderful with the fringe of building heights!

Ah… what's it like to go on a summer's walk along the beach in the WARM rain? I used to enjoy that in the long distant past… especially down Maitlands way… 😉
