A couple of kids from the neighborhood has developed themselves a bit of an informal bmx jump area on a piece of open ground next to the railway line close to us. Although some of the older people in the area are complaining about it, the kids are thoroughly enjoying themselves showing off the bmx jumping skills. I stopped to check it out the other day and even though I only had a couple of minutes I managed to get some pics of them flying through the air. For this one I was lying flat on the ground hoping the the dude doesn’t loose control and come crashing down on me. Next time I’ll try and make some more time to get a couple more shots.

both excellent shots – how many did you have to take to get those?!

I prefer the first too. You can see the joy in his face. He looks to sweet and cuddly to cause toooo much chaos.

Both are great shots – I'm not sure I don't favour the first one a little, though, seeing his face and how the sand is swept up by his feet.

BMX shots are awesome. Like you, I wish I had more time for it. My brother-in-law does it. He has had several crashes with some troubling out comes. Encourage the kids to wear safty gear. Brother-in-law was wearing a helment but still smashed in half of his face. Six to ten weeks of recovery, now uses a full face helment. Will crash sometime in the future I'm sure, hopefully not with the same type of results. I look forward to more pictures.

I agree with you David in terms of safety and on the otherside I belive those young boys should be accomodated by the municipality and proper facilities must be developed for them. Older people should actually be supporting them as they doing something good istead of resorting to crime. The same older people should talk to the private sector to help tose boys.
